Vijilesh Karayad is an actor who is active in malayalam film industry. He made his acting debut with the film ‘Navagatharkku Swagatham’. His other noted films are ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’, ‘Kali’, ‘Guppy’, ‘Alamara’, ‘Varnyathil Ashanka’, ‘Thrissivaperoor Kliptham’, ‘Sukhamano Davieede’, ‘Vimanam’, Chembarathipoovu’, ‘Kalayi FM’ and Chippy’.
Vijilesh Karayad hails from Kozhikode, Kerala. He was born as the youngest son of Mr. Kunjiraman and Mrs. Valsala. He has an elder brother named Rajilesh. While at school, Vijilesh was active in dramas and stage plays. He studied Theatre Studies at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. He completed his M.Phil at School of Letters, MG University, Kottayam. Vijilesh worked at the State Theatre Center for the Arts.
Vijilesh started his career in acting as a theatre artist. He appeared in the plays ‘Kannadi’ and Jilebi’ which were played in more 1000 stages. He made his big screen debut with the film ‘Navagatharkku Swagatham’. His performance at the International Drama Festival held at Thrissur paved way for his acting debut. It was through filmmaker Dilesh Pothen’s ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’ that Vijilesh established himself as an actor.
He later did character roles in films like ‘Kali’, ‘Guppy’, ‘Alamara’, ‘Varnyathil Ashanka’ and ‘Thrissivaperoor Kliptham’. He has also played character roles in the films ‘Sukhamano Davieede’, ‘Vimanam’, Chembarathipoovu’, ‘Kalayi FM’ and Chippy’. Much interestingly, Vijilesh is making his debut in tamil with the remake of ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’ helmed by Priyadarshan. He also appeared in the advertisement of Hindalco Everlast Aluminium Roofing.
