Young heartthrob Nivin Pauly is all set to play the lead character in popular cinematographer Jomon T John’s directorial debut. Titled ‘Kairali’, the film is based on the mysterious disappearance of Kerala’s first ship MV Kairali in 1979.
MV Kairali, a bulk career owned by Kerala Shipping Corporation (KSC), disappeared on 3rd July in 1979 along with her crew of 49 and 20,000 tonnes of iron ore while traveling from Margao in Goa to Rostock in Germany via Djibouti.
The team has interviewed people linked with the ship and the families of its captain Mariyadas Joseph and the crew during their eight months of extensive research.
‘Kairali’ will go on floors in December 2017. The film will be shot in Kerala, Goa, Delhi and some other foreign locations. ‘Kairali’ is jointly produced by Pauly Jr Pictures and Real Life Works.
