The Rajan murder case during the Emergency period is getting a big screen adaptation. Titled ‘Kaattu Vithachavar’, the film directed by Dr.Satheesh Paul is a political thriller based on the real life incident.
Rajan, who was arrested from Regional Engineering College, Calicut, mistaken as a Naxalite was allegedly killed after hours of extreme torture in police custody.
The investigation conducted on what happened to Rajan by DIG Rajgopal Narayanan in 1977 is the main theme of the film. Prakash Bare, Tini Tom and several other actors are part of this flick.
