Gayathri Venkatagiri (Gayathri Iyer) better known as Urmila Gayathri was born on 16th June 1990 at Kochi, Kerala. She did her Mechanical Engineering from Engineering College Thiruvanathapuram. Urmila started modelling in her first year of Engineering. She holds blue one belt in Taekwondo, the Korean martial art. Urmila is also a good tennis player, hip –hop, contemporary and Bharatanatyam dancer.
Urmila Gayathri participated in college fashion shows and inter-college fashion show competitions. She did print ads and TV commercials of popular brands. Urmila walked the ramp in Bangalore for many fashion contests. She started her career in acting through the telugu film ‘Six’. Her other noted films are ‘Sharavana’ (Kannada), ‘Shrishti’ (Bengali), ‘Namo Boothatma’, (Kannada), ‘Ouija’, (Kannada), ‘Aata’ (Telugu), ‘Tyson’(Kannada) and ‘Jaggu Dada’ (Kannada).
Urmila has also appeared in television commercials such as Garnier, Pantene, Vivel soap, Big Bazaar, Airtel Digital TV, Prince Jewellery, Travancore Jewels, Kalamandir Sarees, Colgate Max Fresh and Vanitha Magazine Cover.
