Praveen Prem is a young actor who is active in malayalam film industry. His noted films include ‘Kadha Thudarunnu’, ‘Tournament’, ‘Idiots’, ‘Crocodile Love Story’ and ‘7th Day’. He also made his mark in the tamil entertainment world with the film ‘Dummy Tappasu’.
Praveen Prem was born on 21st April 1984 at Maruthoorkadavu, Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala. After completing his secondary education, Praveeen obtained a certificate in film and video editing from Keltron. His personal interest include watching movies, music, reading, and traveling.
Praveen started his career as an assistant editor to south Indian film editor Mahesh Narayanan. After working in few feature and advertising films, Prem joined become part of his Soorya Theatre Group, owned by Soorya Krishnamoorthy. He appeared in two plays; Pulari and Sookshmacharcha which were staged in Kerala and Muscat. The experience as a theatre artist brought a transition in his life and career. He made his silver screen debut in 2010 with the film ‘Katha Thudarunnu’ directed by Sathyan Anthikad. His major role came through the film ‘Tournament – Play & Replay’ directed by Lal.
Praveen later went on acting in films like ‘Snehaveedu’, ‘Ideal Couples’, ‘Mullasery Madhavan Kutty’, ‘SIM’, ‘Idiots’, ‘Rebecca Uthup Kizhakkemala’, ‘ATM, ‘Crocodile Love Story’, ‘7th Day’ and ‘Parchai’. He also made cameo appearance in films like ‘Fathers Day’, ‘Hero’, ‘Annayum Rasoolum’ and ‘Street Light’. He made his tamil entry with the film ‘Dummy Tapppasu’. Praveen also anchored the cookery show ‘Pach’amulaku’ aired in Media One TV. For his acting brilliance in the film ‘Katha Thudarunnu’, Praveen won the ALA award 2010 for best newcomer.
