Mohit Raina is an actor who is active in Indian television. He is best known for his role as Hindu god Shiva in the TV series ‘Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev’. His popular serials include ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Bandini’, ‘Mahabharat’ and ‘Chariavartin Ashoka Samrat’.
Mohit Raina was born on 14th August 1982 at Jammu. He did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jammu Kashmir. Mohit completed his graduation in B.Com from Jammu University.
Mohit started her career in modeling by participating in the 2005 Grasim Mr. India contest. He was placed among the top five contestants in the competition. His career in television was with the science fiction ‘Antariksh’. He starred as Jai Kishan in the comedy film ‘Don Muthu Swami’. Mohit went on acting in the tv serials like ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Chehra’, ‘Bhandini’ and ‘Ganga Kii Dheej’. He shot to fame after being starred in the 2001 series ‘Devon Ke Dec – Mahadev’ directed by Nikhil Sinha.
He portrayed the role of god Siva in the series which focused on his journey from a hermit to a householder through his marriage to Sati and later to Parvati. Mohit played over 30 different characters in the series, which ran for three years. He will next be portraying the adult Emperor Ashoka, in the historical serial ‘Chakravartin Ashok Samrat’ on Colors TV. The show is proposed to air from mid-April 2016. For his acting brilliance in ‘Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev’, Mohit won the Indian Telly Awards Best Actor in a lead role (Jury) (2013) and Star Guild Awards 2015 Best Actor in a lead role (2015).
