The 18th Asianet Film Awards were distributed at a glittering function held recently at Adlux Convention, Angamali, Kochi, Kerala. The most awaited award night of the Malayalam entertainment industry which took place on 7th February was witnessed by a huge crowd.
Celebrated personalities from the film industry and socio-cultural spheres were present during the star studded night.
R S Vimal’s ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ was selected as the Best Film, Alphonse Putheran received Best Director Award and Most Popular Film Award for the film ‘Premam’. Prithviraj Sukumara bagged the best actor award for his performance in the film ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ and Parvathy was honoured with the Best Actress award for ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ and ‘Charlie’.
Apart from the award winners, filmmakers Sibi Malayil, Kamal, actors Mohanlal, Prathap Pothen, Manoj K Jayan, Suresh Krishna, Joju, Tini Tom, Sijoy Varghese, Rahul Dev, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Peter Haien (stunt master) music directors Gopi Sunder, Deepak Dev, actors Sheela, Meena, Meera Jasmine, Reenu Mathew, Namitha Pramod, Ambika, Ssivada, KPAC Lalitha, Nikki Galrani, Nikhitha, Vimala Raman, Bindu Panicker, Anusree, Priyanka, Priyal Gor, Anupama Parameswaran, Muthumani, Aparna and Parvathy Ratheesh were part of the glam event.
The major highlight of the day was the entertaining programs performed by the prominent Malayalam actors along with stars from tollywood & bollywood. Dance performances by Navya Nair, Asha Sarath, Miya, Neeraj Madhav, Rachana Narayankutty, Vishnupriya, Parvathy Nambiar and Sanchitha Shetty, comedy skits by Jagadheesh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajon, Ramesh Pisharadi, musical magic by Rimi Tomy, Vijay Yesudas, Vijayalakshmi and Stephen Devasya were delightful.
Asianet will be telecast the award function on 20th and 21st February 2016 from 7 PM onwards. Spectators can enjoy the show on Asianet and online on hotstar.
