After a respite, malayalam films have gained momentum regarding the box office collection and satellite rights. The year 2015 ended on a positive note as television channels started to chill money for films which have done good business in the Kerala box office.
The romantic entertainer ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’, which gathered more than 50 Crore at the box office, was sold for Rs 6.87 to Asianet making it a record as far as satellite rights in the state are concerned. Recently Asianet paid Rs.6 crore for Alphonse Puthren’s blockbuster film ‘Premam’. ‘Pathemari’ was bought by Surya TV for Rs 6 Crores.
Earlier ‘Drishyam’ was sold for a price of Rs 6. 5 Crores. The major players in the entertainment business like Asianet, Surya TV, Mazhavil Manorama, Flowers TV, Amrita TV and Kairali TV keep an eye on the performance on the films in theatres rather than buying it in advance.
